In 2020, the dream took root as Julie Denton and her husband embarked on a heartfelt journey to craft exquisite wines that echo the essence of their roots. With a deep-seated connection to winemaking, Julie's inspiration comes from her Great-Aunt Saviana, a remarkable woman whose expertise bloomed during the hardship of the Great Depression.
Saviana Winery draws its name from this luminary figure, whose legacy was forged amidst the rolling hills of Northeast Kansas, specifically in the enchanting locale overlooking the Missouri River valley known as Billy Goat Hill. It was here that Saviana honed her craft under the tutelage of her father, creating country wines for friends and family.
